THE FURTHER SQUEAKS OF GLADSTONE MCWHISKERS - FINALLY PUBLISHED!!!
Hi,
Okay! So, that's two books in one week! :) Yeah, I write them quick...
To be precise, work on THE FURTHER SQUEAKS OF GLADSTONE MCWHISKERS begun in spring 2006 and I've been working at it ever since. It was actually was meant to be the first one of the two ready, but it didn't work out like that... Anyway, time for introductions...
THE FURTHER SQUEAKS OF GLADSTONE MCWHISKERSis the 2nd Mouse of Commons short story collection, containing 7 adventures in all and a fair few photos too, along the way. In these adventures, Glad attends a Halloween party to end all Halloween parties, goes on a life-threatening sponsored walk, helps a friend in need find a job, meets a ghostly apparition, dresses up as a fox club to infiltrate a gang, attempts to prevent an assassination and loses his memory during a trip to Stockholm.
Don't forget that GLADSTONE MCWHISKERS THROWS IT ALL AWAY has also just been released.
For those not in the know...
GLADSTONE MCWHISKERS THROWS IT ALL AWAYis all about what happens when The Mouse of Commons decides to give up his position and runs away to the country; leaving his trusty assistant - Oliver Louse - to deal with a scary new foe in old London Town. But what Gladstone finds in the country is equally as dangerous and scary...
Anyway - enough from me. I may well be recording some of the shorter Mouse of Commons stories for the vimeo site within the next few weeks and posting some extracts from the new book on this site too.
GLADSTONE MCWHISKERS THROWS IT ALL AWAY - NOW AVAILABLE!!!
Hi,
Just to let everyone know that the new Mouse of Commons novel: GLADSTONE MCWHISKERS THROWS IT ALL AWAY, is now available to be purchased on www.lulu.com
GLADSTONE MCWHISKERS THROWS IT ALL AWAY is all about what happens when The Mouse of Commons decides to give up his position and runs away to the country; leaving his trusty assistant - Oliver Louse - to deal with a scary new foe in old London Town. But what Gladstone finds in the country is equally as dangerous and scary...
The book can also be downloaded, for those of you who are more digitally inclined, for £4.99.
I had a slight problem with the original design of the cover, as seen here previously - but the back covers are probably more scenic than before. (As below)
The next book of short stories: THE FURTHER SQUEAKS OF GLADSTONE MCWHISKERS should be ready by mid-July and I'll be announcing a book launch very soon for late August/early September 2008.
Hopefully I'll also be able to post up a video of me reading one of the shorter stories from this website, in the next few weeks. :)
I may post some extracts from the new book in the next few weeks...
All the best!
Paul x
P.S. Thanks again to Chris Velvin for all his help proofreading this book. :)
P.P.S. I read some poems and discussed lulu, the blogs, the videos and most of all Gladstone McWhiskers on RADIO WEY this evening. I'll post more photos on here in the next week or so - but there is a more detailed review of the night on www.thedaffypoet.blogspot.com
Hi, I can reveal that the two new Mouse of Commons books will be ready by early August!!
With the help from Dr Neph Mexico and especially new proof reader Chris Velvin from http://velvinproofs.co.uk both THE FURTHER SQUEAKS OF GLADSTONE MCWHISKERS and GLADSTONE MCWHISKERS THROWS IT ALL AWAY will be ready by early August; which also means I'll be having a book launch party in early September. Both books have been returned to me with their corrections and I am currently making the changes.
In other news; my friend Owen and I have been working on some videos of my poems, which I have posted up at www.vimeo.com/shyyeti - and I have also posted an example: YETI SPAGHETTI below. I am hoping in the near future to do the same with some of the shorter mouse stories, maybe some of the AUNTIE ASTRID columns and maybe even some of the episodic stories that I posted here on the site late last year. There will be more blogsite exclusive stories posted here later this year and I intend to collect all these stories in a collection called POSTCARDS FROM MCWHISKERS early in 2009.
More details on the new books and which ones I am now beginning to work on now that FURTHER and THROW are almost finished, in the next post. I will say, however, that I've just finished several short stories that are part of future books and these are GLADSTONE MCWHISKERS AND THE PIE-RONIC INCIDENT (set in Venice), GLADSTONE MCWHISKERS AND THE PIENTOLOGISTS and GLADSTONE MCWHISKERS AND THE BAA-CODE BANDITS.
Enjoy the poem - thanks again to Owen for all his help with putting it together!
Mousey Hugs,
Paul xx
PS The photo at the top of the page is from a recent visit to Crosby Beach near Stockport where I couldn't help but pose with one of the scary statues!!!

Book writing, poetry rhyming, podcasting, pie eating, coffee guzzling, music listening, Yeti-loving, Paddington Bear wannabe, 50 - seeks well, you know - stuff... But only if it's presented to me as an amusing rhyme!
